Rick arrived from Seattle right on time yesterday. I had told him I would be sitting on the terrace of a café, just across from where he had boarded the Air France shuttle to go out to Charles de Gualle airport when he left in October. I was hoping that he would be dropped off at the same spot.
His flight was supposed to arrive at 8:15 a.m. and the plan was that I would be at the café at 10:00. I had just ordered a coffee when the shuttle pulled up. And there he was dragging two suitcases across the street. Hurrah! There was a back-up plan, but we didn't need it.
He was tired, but I was adament...no sleeping. So I took him on a walk all the way over to the Jardin du Luxembourg. It was cold, but we wandered the garden and snapped a few photos.
Then back to the apartment. While Rick took a very short nap, I put the Boeuf Bourguignon back on the heat for a couple of hours to reduce and thicken. And yes, it was delicious!
